James Whitfield
Fifteen years assessing SME facilities across trades, hospitality and transport. James signs off the declines as well as the approvals, and writes most of what appears here.
What James actually does here
Every application that arrives at GreyRok is read by a person. For most files, that person is James or someone on his team. He reads the statements, forms a view on servicing, decides what a sensible facility looks like, and calls the applicant if something does not add up.
He also reviews everything published on this site that touches credit — the guides, the worked examples, and the numbers in them — which is why articles carry a reviewed date as well as a published one.
Background
- Fifteen years in commercial credit, the last eight in short-term SME lending.
- Assessment experience across construction and trades, hospitality, transport and wholesale.
- Built the servicing framework GreyRok uses to size facilities against revenue regularity.
